Jenya Kazbekova- Rodellar
Jenya Kazbekova tells us about her exciting trip in Spain
The trip in Spain was really exciting! I think, that Spain is the middle Mecca of climbing, because so many different routes you won't find anywhere. I was really shocked - even if I move to Spain for only climbing I wouldn't be able to do all these routes. This autumn I visited Rodellar. This climbing area is not only great, but also is very beautiful. So, it was especial joy to leave the rainy and gray Ukrainian autumn, when we took the tickets for air liner to Spain. I went there together with my family. It was nice to spend about one month jointly with my parents and my little sister. The days were running out quickly. Soon I was climbing without the skin on my fingers.
This trip I did 8a+ onsight ("El corredor de la muerte"). And 8a+/8b ("A muerte") on flash, the route is really beautiful and pleasent, if I compare this route with other 8a+, for me it is more 8b. I received incredible pleasure from this route, this route is one of that you want come back and do it again. The joke is that my mantra is "Never give up", and both of routes in translating are "do this to the death or to the end".
More projects, more zealotry, more life in me. The main thing that I understood that the life is wonderful, it is so cool, live, climbing and do something that I really love! Sometimes during the rest days we went to different cities such as Barbastro, Barcelona, El Cuasar. We were very lucky with weather. There were only two rainy days during our staying in Spain. The local rocks are little bit dirty and wet in October. But this didn't stop us. The rock climbing is really beautiful sport in my opinion. So, when I am climbing on the rocks I feel harmony with nature and I know that there is nothing closer to me. It is my pleasure to appreciate my sponsors SCARPA for the long term care and support.
