Pirmin Bertle fires 9b in Swizerland

Pirmin Bertle has pulled off a series of hard routes in the last 10 months with a mix of repeats and FA’s that would be impressive on any climbers life long tick list.

Pirmin Bertle has pulled off a series of hard routes in the last 10 months with a mix of repeats and FA’s that would be impressive on any climbers life long tick list.

The ball started rolling with Streiflicht (8c) in Kochel. The massif located in Bavaria, Germany was to be locations for a series of hard first accents and repeats by Pirmin.

From Doubt to Confidence (9a) at the Rocky Wall received it’s first repeat from Pirmin and followed by Ralf Grabowski in spring. Then Heim nach Afrika 8c+ , followed by repeat of Walk the Plank (9a) a FA by Ralf Grabowski at the Rockywand , Kochel. Next to fall was the FA of Magus Fagus (9a/9a+) also at Rockywand.

A quick repeat of Christian Bindhammer’s Big Hammer (9a) in Pinswang/Austria followed.

The big news was Primin’s accent of La Cène du lézard (9b) in Jansegg , Swizerland. Combining Le roi lézard (8c+) with the crux of Des scènes bizarres dans la mine d’or (9a+) and a new last hard boulder resulting from a broken hold.

Time will tell if Primin’s grades hold up , but certainly the quality and locations of the routes look speculator regardless of the numbers.

Nice job Primin!!
