My name is Urban Primožič. I am 22 years old and I come from Škofja Loka, a small town in the middle of Slovenia.
Climbing has been a part of me my entire life. As a child I climbed every tree, rock or fence I found. When I was 10 years old, I started visiting a local climbing gym. It was just a hobby at first, but slowly it became much more than that. The gym where I trained was mostly competition focused and soon I also started competing. My first competition results were far from brilliant. I've had good coaches that kept me motivated through my training process and with time, hard work paid off. The progress was slow, but every improvement kept me going and it still keeps me going!
With years competition climbing became my passion and now my training is mostly focused on achieving better results in competitions.
In 2008 I started competing in world cup. I prefer lead climbing so that's why I mostly compete only on lead world cups. Also in world cup my first results were not that great. I had to fight my way up.
In 2011 I made it to the finals in Kranj for the first time. I finished 5th. In the next years I've reached many semi-finals and also a couple of finals.
Having SCARPA on my side in the last few years made many things easier. Good support lets me focus even more on my climbing and the whole training process.
Every year brings new challenges, memories and also higher goals. I'm looking forward to see what comes in the next years.
