Giorgia Felicetti

“Respect everyone, fear none”

I was born on 7 January 1998 in Campitello di Fassa (Trento). My father is the alpine guide and ski teacher, Luigi Felicetti, in Val di Fassa where I manage a ski rental business with my family. I have practiced sports since I was young. Initially I went figure skating and then, for a short period, I become interested in freestyle skiing. Later, a love of the mountains and the nature that surround me encouraged me to dedicate myself to ski mountaineering and mountain running during the summer period, as well as training during the winter. A few of my friends and my parents helped me to take my first steps in this world I love.

My specialty during the summer is most certainly the vertical run, where I can devote all my energies to the ascent, even though I’d like to try out skyrunning in the future (I will be doing some already this year). I think that while young it is best to focus on relatively short distances and fast runs and only later try out longer and more challenging races.

Over the summer, I run 5-6 times a week with my personal trainer Faustino Bordiga, but I also cycle, climb and do strength workouts in the gym. The most beautiful race was the 2017 Junior World Vertical Race in Andorra, where I began with no expectations, but ended up winning a gold medal. The worst race… I’d rather not think about it. I have learnt lessons for the future from negative experiences.
